摘要: Twelve species of talitrid amphipods were recorded from pitfall transects across the supralittoral and maritime zones at three localities on west coast Tasmania; sandhoppers, rest landhoppers. There was a sharp demarcation between highest range sandhoppers lowest Organic content sodium substrate in very low, but rose sharply as sand colonised by plants, landhoppers replaced sandhoppers. Coastal group landhopper restricted to zone about 40–70 m above high tide mark. Cooler, wetter weather increased activity only affected slightly. These differences support idea that did not evolve directly sandhopper ancestors.
