摘要: The lion (Panthera leo) is featuring ever more prominently on the agendas of international wildlife treaties like Convention International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) and Conservation Migratory Wild Animals (CMS). Lion range numbers have declined markedly over last two decades. In this review we assess present role with a view to improving their combined contribution conservation sustainable use lions. Our analysis identifies substantial body relevant law and, moreover, significant potential for enhancing these global regional treaties. time right invest such improvements, our renders general treaty-specific recommendations doing so, including making full Ramsar Wetlands Convention, World Heritage transboundary area (TFCA) conservation. CMS holds particular regard provides strong support listing its Appendices.
