摘要: Food prices and food affordability are important determinants of choices, obesity non-communicable diseases. As governments around the world consider policies to promote consumption healthier foods, data on relative price with a particular focus difference between 'less healthy' 'healthy' foods diets, urgently needed. This paper briefly reviews past current approaches monitoring prices, identifies key issues affecting development practical tools methods for collection, analysis reporting. A step-wise framework, including measurement indicators, is proposed. 'Minimal' collection will assess differential foods; 'expanded' diets; 'optimal' approach also monitor affordability, by taking into account household income. The diets globally provide robust benchmarks inform economic fiscal policy responses. Given range methodological, cultural logistical challenges in this area, it imperative that all aspects proposed framework tested rigorously before implementation.
