摘要: Background : The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education requires residency programs to provide curricula residents engage in scholarly activities but does not specify particular guidelines instruction. We propose a Resident Scholarship Program that is framed by the self-determination theory (SDT) and emphasize process of activity versus product. Methods authors report on their longitudinal Program, which aimed support psychological needs central SDT: autonomy, competence, relatedness. By addressing those program aims components, may foster residents’ intrinsic motivation learn activity. To this end, engagement processes, changes perceived relatedness were assessed. Results Residents engaged range projects expressed positive regard program. Compared before residency, felt more confident activity, as determined increased Scholarly products accomplished return focus process. Conclusions Based our experience, line with SDT, supporting through process-oriented scholarship curiosity, inquisitiveness, internal drives ultimately production products.
