摘要: The posttranslational modification of target proteins with ubiquitin and ubiquitin-like is accomplished by the sequential action E1, E2, E3 enzymes. Members E1 enzyme families can undergo particularly large conformational changes during their catalytic cycles, involving remodeling domain interfaces. This enables efficient, directed regulated handover from one carrier to next one. We review some these transformations, as revealed crystallographic studies.
