摘要: Lactase persistence is an autosomal-dominant trait that common in European-derived populations. A basic tendency for lactase to increase from the southeast northwest across European populations has been noted, but such trends within countries have not extensively studied. We genotyped C/T−13910 variant (rs4988235) constitutes putatively causal allele (T representing persistence) a general population sample of 3344 women aged 60–79 years 23 towns Britain. found overall frequency 0.253 C (lactase non-persistence) allele, with considerable gradients decreasing south north and east west Britain this allele. Daily sunlight was positively related (non-persistence) prevalence. However, exposure latitude are strongly correlated, it possible identify which primary factor statistically underlying distribution persistence. The drinking milk or bone health (although itself protective health), essentially unrelated wide range other lifestyle, demographic characteristics. One exception being rated as poor fair, there odds ratio 1.38 (1.04, 1.84) homozygous allele; on adjustment longitude place birth, attenuated 1.19 (0.87, 1.64). could contribute examination data existence of, then statistical control for, substructure genetic association studies.
