摘要: Atlantic salmon are severely affected by acidification in Norway. Water quality criteria for the have to be based on most sensitive stage, smolt stage. The sensitivity acidic water increases enormously during smolting, seawater tolerance being especially vulnerable. Even moderately (pH about 6) with low inorganic monomeric aluminium (LA1) concentrations (<20μg. L−1) and short-term episodes may harmful. Mixing zones limed or unlimed rivers also represent a problem seaward migrating smolts. In rivers, national liming goal has been increased pH 6.5 smolting (1 February 1 July) 6.2 rest of year as result our experiments. contrast what found brown trout, strains originating from watercources undergoing were not more tolerant than those non-acidic watercourses. At moment no such “tolerant” available restocking
