Gravitational redshift of galaxies in clusters as predicted by general relativity

摘要: The theoretical framework of cosmology is mainly defined by gravity, which general relativity the current model. Recent tests within Lambda Cold Dark Matter (ΛCDM) model have found a concordance between predictions and observations growth rate clustering cosmic web. General has not hitherto been tested on cosmological scales independently assumptions ΛCDM Here we report an observation gravitational redshift light coming from galaxies in clusters at 99 per cent confidence level, based archival data. Our measurement agrees with its modification created to explain acceleration without need for dark energy (the f(R) theory), but inconsistent alternative models designed avoid presence matter.
