摘要: During evolution, the eukaryotic plant cell that we see today is thought to have developed by fusion of former free-living prokaryotes, a process referred as endosymbiosis. This widely accepted theory predicts mitochondria originated from α-proteobacteria, which were engulfed in first endosymbiotic step an ancient host — probably archaebacterium (Martin and Muller 1998; Brocks et al. 1999). Then, this new, heterotrophically growing organism gained capability for photoautotrophic growth uptake cyanobacterialike prokaryote which, later, became chloroplast.
