摘要: Objective: Genetic factors are important determinants of osteoarthritis (OA) but most individual genetic associations appear relatively modest. We aimed to answer whether carrying several variants associated with knee OA could result in a greater risk Methods: Genotypes for 36 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) 17 candidate genes previously were analysed 298 men and 305 women diagnosed who met American College Rheumatology (ACR) criteria, 297 male 299 female age- ethnicity-matched controls. The S-sum statistic method was used select SNPs that contributed OA, separately women, the coefficients from logistic regression add genotypes new variable. Results: odds ratio individuals top quartile “genetic risk” variable compared those bottom found be 8.68 (95% CI 5.20–14.49, p −16 ) 5.06 3.10–8.27, −10 men. Conclusions: Our data suggest additive information number can predict substantial proportion OA.
