摘要: The psoas muscle is among the most significant muscles that overlie vertebral column. It a long fusiform on either side of column and brim lesser pelvis. At its distal end, it combines with iliacus to form iliopsoas muscle. has traditionally described having deep superficial segment. deeper segment originates from first four lumbar vertebrae, while along lateral surface thoracic vertebrae adjacent intervertebral discs. In between layers, one can find plexus. which encircled by dense iliac fascia. common tendon attaches trochanter femur: during contraction fibers lead external rotation abduction femur. orientation changes superior-inferior direction upper portion horizontal toward anterior middle reaching pubic branch passing under inguinal ligament, an oblique posterior inserting trochanter. inconsistent minor completes muscle. The major biomechanical postural function both moving static states. also involved in metabolic used clinical assessment some diseases, as well mood stress disorders cause low back pain.
