摘要: This study presents a detailed analysis of an exceptionally well-preserved articulated specimen the trilobite Trimerocephalus from Late Devonian Holy Cross Mountains in Poland. X-ray microtomography reveals oldest direct evidence for moulting episode known fossil record. The process as well associated features observed investigated are interpreted by comparison with extinct and extant Xiphosurida arthropods, which survived global P/T extinction among closest relatives trilobites. A very special moment frozen time space millions years ago provides rare insights into behavior physiology these long-extinct arthropods.
