摘要: The compaction behavior of fine alumina powders with different particle sizes or bimodal particle-size distributions that are undergoing pressure filtration was investigated. Three powders—average 0.2—0.86 μm—were compacted to a solids fraction 62—65 vol% from suspensions at pH 3, which the level showed their lowest viscosity. When average were mixed, better flowability, and viscosity obtained when fines ∼30 = 3. mixed-sized powder higher density than unmixed coarse powders, maximum for mixed had viscosity, despite ratio. Maximum densities 72.5% 75.0% attained size ratios 2 5, respectively. compacts pressure-filtered exhibited single-peaked pore-size distribution homogeneous microstructure, whereas dry-pressed double-peaked. sintering pressure-filtrated significantly sinterability much-less linear shrinkage coarser compacts.
