摘要: Objective Bone marrow cell extract (BMCE) was previously reported to restore salivary gland hypofunction caused by irradiation injury. Proteins were shown be the main active factors in BMCE. However, BMCE therapy requires multiple injections and protein denaturation is a concern during storage. This study aimed preserve, lyophilization (freeze-drying), bioactive Methods We developed method freeze-dry then analyze its ingredients functions vivo. Freeze-dried (FD) BMCE, freshly prepared (positive control), or saline (vehicle control) injected into tail vein of mice that had received damage their glands. Results demonstrated presence angiogenesis-related cytokines FD-BMCE remained comparable those found fresh Both restored comparably saliva secretion, increased proliferation, upregulated regenerative/repair genes, protected acinar cells, parasympathetic nerves, blood vessels from irradiation-damaged Conclusion Lyophilization maintained bioactivity therapeutic effect on irradiation-injured The advantages freeze-drying are storage transport at ambient temperature.
