摘要: The baculovirus inhibitor of apoptosis gene, iap, can impede cell death in insect cells. Here we show that iap also prevent mammalian ability to regulate programmed widely divergent species raised the possibility cellular homologs might exist. Consistent with this hypothesis, have isolated Drosophila and human genes which encode IAP-like proteins (dILP hILP). Like IAP, both dILP hILP contain amino-terminal IAP repeats (BIRs) carboxy-terminal RING finger domains. Human ilp encodes a expressed cytoplasmic protein suppress transfected An analysis sequence tag database suggests hilp is one several related iap. Together these data suggest play an evolutionarily conserved role regulation apoptosis.
