摘要: Abstract Chemiluminescence and calorimetric studies were carried on human neutrophils activated with phorbol-12-myristate-13-acetate. A biphasic response to metabolic activation, less evident in the chemiluminescence curves, was detected by both methods of analysis. Superoxidedismutase sodium azide strongly inhibited while heat production unaffected. It appears that techniques give good information about process activation but only calorimetry can quantify chemical energy expended during process.
