摘要: Joint management of protected areas is promoted in many countries around the world. It considered a means to provide local communities, including indigenous people, with recognition their cultural practices use and natural resources within area, while working together governments achieve conservation goals. Here we explore potential using participatory monitoring evaluation approach as not only agreeing on objectives but also measuring progress toward those objectives. In particular, first describe process used develop criteria indicators for effectiveness area Northern Territory, Australia, involving park's Aboriginal Traditional Owners, legal representatives, government, researchers.
