摘要: Energy saving has been the primal issue in designing medium access control (MAC) protocols for wireless sensor networks (WSNs). However, with advent of new micro electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) technologies and recently thermo-powered solar-powered nodes – where operate virtually an unlimited time period research community is set to experience many diverse directions this area. Factors like timeliness, scalability, synchronisation, adaptivity reliability will play their part near future. This paper discusses AREA-MAC, a MAC protocol specially designed real-time energy-efficient WSN applications.
