摘要: Abstract Synchrotron X-ray topography has been used to study dislocation behavior around notches in single-crystals of ice during in-situ deformation at a constant strain-rate. During −8°C dislocation-depleted zone (DDZ) formed above the notch while vertical array dislocations below notch. Modeling interaction between basal plane loops and stress field suggested that this DDZ arose from gliding completely through specimen. Dislocation activity was much greater than observed −40°C −60°C.
