摘要: There are multiple satellites observing and reporting fire imagery at various spatial temporal resolutions each system has inherent strengths limitations. In this study, data acquired from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectro-radiometer (MODIS) aboard National Aeronautics & Space Administration’s (NASA’s) Earth Observing System satellites. The MODIS-equipped satellite is polar orbiting with one daytime equatorial crossing a 1-km2 resolution product. Fire-counts obtained two MODIS instruments different having 10:30 AM 1:30 PM time, respectively. Here, general methodology of processing provided. An effective area burned estimate, using count product, compared occurrence estimates independently 2002 ground-based database. Successful development application technique for characterizing emissions in United States (U.S.) could enhance techniques characterization air quality modeling its applications.
