摘要: Abstract A hyperprolactinemic rat model [rats bearing anterior pituitary grafts under the capsule of kidney (AP-grafted rats)] was used to study sleep-wake activity and cortical brain temperature (Tcrt). Fisher 344 male rats (n = 24) were implanted with pituitaries from pups; control (n = 12) sham-operated. Sleep–wake Tcrt recorded for 2 days between weeks 3 7 after surgery. The state confirmed by plasma prolactin (PRL) assays on week determination PRL mRNA levels in AP-grafted rats. Neither growth hormone concentration nor affected grafts. Duration non-rapid eye movement sleep (NREMS) slightly enhanced large increase rapid (REMS) during 12-h light period major effect implantation extra pituitaries. Both duration frequency REMS episodes increased persisted 4–7 post-implantation. nocturnal states vigilance, Tcrt, intensity NREMS (EEG slow wave activity) not altered. results clearly indicate that enhancements persist hyperprolactinemia, support hypothesis possesses REMS-promoting activity.
