摘要: Abstract Stanniocalcin is a glycoprotein hormone previously considered present only in bony fish where it secreted by the corpuscles of Stannius, endocrine organs involved Ca2+ homeostasis. In fish, stanniocalcin was thought to be an adaptation for regulation aquatic environments, and its effects include inhibition gill transport. We have obtained human cDNA clone coding protein highly homologous stanniocalcin. The mRNA expressed many tissues, with highest levels ovary, prostate thyroid. vitro cell culture studies show that positively regulated extracellular medium conclude similar multiple tissues rather than specialized organ.
