摘要: Following a review of the methods employed in some recent studies, this paper proposes wayforwardfor pragmatics-sensitive research into actual participant moves community interpreting events. Its aim is to overcome objections that have been raised critical discourse analysis, conversation analysis and pragmatics relate microlevel participants’ utterances broader issues role, power distribution, norms so on dominated discussion interpreter-mediated communication. Adopting broadly ostensive-inferential view communication, we examine nature evidence can be adduced support causal models suggest it found real-time responses participants themselves each other ’s rather than analysts’ imagined reconstruction context, intentionality acceptability.
