Translation and relevance

摘要: In this study I argue that the phenomenon commonly referred to as "translation" can be accounted for naturally within relevance theory of communication developed by Sperber and Wilson: there is no need a distinct general translation. Most kinds translation can analysed varieties Interpretive use. I distinguish direct from indirect translation, where direct translation corresponds idea translation should convey same meaning original, including stylistic effects, involves looser degrees faithfulness. show direct translation merely special case interpretive use, whereas general case. More generally, different with the various principles guidelines have been proposed to account them, explained in terms interaction between principle contextual factors, without recourse typological frameworks.
