摘要: The prevalence of painful medical conditions increases with age. Pain differences in older adulthood are special concern because we do not know how brain changes healthy aging may alter the sensory and affective response to pain. Over last two decades, neuroimaging studies have described interconnected regions that mediate pain processing. In particular, imaging techniques been used describe activation networks structures comprising lateral medial systems. generally associated sensory-discriminative affective-motivational dimensions respectively. Key network include specific nuclei thalamus primary (S1) secondary somatosensory (S2) cortex while different but thalamus, as well insular cingulate cortices
