摘要: A monoclonal antibody (Ab8) to choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) was used locate structures showing ChAT-like immunoreactivity (ChAT-IR) in the brain of a teleost fish, midshipman (Porichthys notatus). ChAT is synthetic enzyme for acetylcholine found neurons using that neurotransmitter; thus ChAT-IR may be interpreted as indicating putative cholinergic activity. Robust staining seen all cranial nerve motor nuclei. In addition, brainstem Porichthys distinguished by two other expansive zones: sonic nucleus, which innervates swimbladder "drum" muscles, and an octavolateralis efferent acoustic, vestibular, lateral line end organs. Scattered labeled cells are several sensory nuclei--the vagal lobe, main descending trigeminal form restricted subpopulations noncranial nuclei, including granule cell layer cerebellum; superior, medial, inferior divisions reticular formation; stratum periventriculare midbrain's optic tectum; nucleus isthmi midbrain tegmentum. telencephalon, dense population ventral area ventralis; terminals fine fibers dorsal, central nuclei dorsalis. Together, data represent first complete report bodies any nonmammal with Ab8, has already been extensively on variety vertebrate brains. The results discussed from comparative viewpoint, considering reports different taxa.
