摘要: Abstract Epileptic seizures were induced in immobilized, mechanically ventilated rats by intravenous injection of 1.2 mg/kg bicuculline. Immediately after the onset electrocortical paroxysmal activity, blood pressure abruptly increased and pulmonary compliance and/or airways resistence increased, as evidenced rise intratracheal during mechanical ventilation. Although could be partially blocked a rapid withdrawal blood, hemorrhagic edema developed which 15 min led to progressive deterioration cardiorespiratory state death most animals within 30 60 min. Histological examination lungs revealed typical signs respiratory distress due interstitial intraalveolar edema. The results obtained indicate that neurogenic is consistent complication bicuculline-induced may seriously interfere with seizure-induced metabolic hemodynamic response brain.
