摘要: We simulate the Lyα forest in a standard cold dark matter universe using two-level hierarchical grid code to evolve and baryonic components self-consistently. solve time-dependent ionization equations for hydrogen helium, adopting Haardt & Madau's recent estimate metagalactic UV radiation background. compare our simulation results with measured properties of by constructing synthetic spectra analyzing them an automated procedure identify, deblend, fit Voigt line profiles absorption features. The H I column density Doppler parameter distributions that we obtain agree closely those Keck Observatory's High Resolution Eschelle Spectrograph (HIRES) earlier high spectral resolution observations over range 1012 cm-2 3.5). also values intergalactic He II opacity. Our require ionizing background lower than Madau factor 4, corresponding soft intrinsic QSO spectrum, αQ ≈ 1.8-2.
