Latent burnout profiles: A new approach to understanding the burnout experience

摘要: Latent profile analysis, with two large datasets, was used to identify multiple person-centered profiles across the burnout – engagement continuum, as assessed by three dimensions of Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). Five emerged from this analysis: (high on all dimensions), Engagement (low three), Overextended exhaustion only), Disengaged cynicism and Ineffective inefficacy only). Each these showed a different pattern correlates organizational variables. The more negative than Overextended, closer profile, which argues against use alone proxy for burnout. results have important implications theory, research, interventions.
