摘要: Abstract In this work, composites based on polyester resin and silica sand were elaborated. Partial substitution of by waste Tetra Pak particles from discarded beverage containers was carried out, namely 1, 2, 4 6% weight. As is well known, packaging have six layers: four polyethylene, one cellulose aluminum. Modified irradiated with gamma rays at doses 100 to 500 kGy in order improve the mechanical properties through a better interfacial coupling between matrix caused irradiation process. The results shown an improvement 15% compressive strength 16% flexural strength, when 1% dose 100 kGy used. Higher deformation also observed (until 34% higher); therefore ductile material obtained, which not common for these kinds composites. By increasing 200 kGy concentration higher than 2% particles, decreased considerably.
