摘要: This chapter is concerned with the manner in which practice performing various memory tasks influences subsequent performance. Although involves learning, simply calling beneficial effects of “learning” does little to enhance our understanding these effects, because standard definition learning (i.e., “the relatively permanent change behavior that results from experience”) provides us information regarding (a) extent changes generalize across tasks, (b) role nature experience plays producing observed changes, and (c) structure or processes as a result practice. These three issues must be addressed order provide proper theoretical interpretation constitute focus present chapter.
