摘要: In complex maxillofacial surgery, life size individual models of the patient, milled from polyurethane foam on basis a 3-D CT data set, are being used to plan osteotomies prior actual surgery by performing surgical rehearsal model itself. The most important contribution this procedure is not so much where osteotomy lines should be but it planning displacements bone segments while having complete overview (which impossible during surgery) and able measure all these in advance. Secondary advantages direct visual tactile feedback that facilitates communication between team members, preparation exactly fitting implants or grafts bank. Altogether results an optimal result single procedure.
