Laser fusion ion temperatures determined by neutron time‐of‐flight techniques

摘要: Measurements have been made of the energy spectrum neutrons emitted as a result laser compression D‐T‐filled glass microshells using time‐of‐flight spectrometer. From width unfolded spectra, plasma ion temperatures approximately 6 keV determined for 90‐μm‐diam targets irradiated with 2 TW 1.06‐μm light. The measured mean neutron 14.00±0.10 MeV agrees expected value 14.05 MeV.
