摘要: Summary Objectives Pre-antiretroviral therapy (ART) HIV-related survival and timing of HIV identification have not been reported from the Caribbean. Using Jamaican national surveillance data, we estimated overall, AIDS-free, AIDS survival, identified factors influencing mortality, examined associated with late HIV/AIDS identification. We overall AIDS-free by initial stage, using a proportional hazard model to identify worse logistic regression examine related later case Results Of 10674 cases, 48% were asymptomatic, 14% symptomatic, 38% AIDS. Five-year was 77% for asymptomatic persons 63% symptomatic. Median after diagnosis 1.02 years. Age, number opportunistic diseases, strongly mortality. Older age, drug use, sex commercial worker Conclusions In pre-ART era, over one-third HIV-infected in Jamaica advanced disease. This highlights need earlier as ART programs roll out
