Efficacy of ProTaper Universal rotary retreatment system for gutta‐percha removal from root canals

摘要: Aim  To evaluate the efficacy of ProTaper Universal rotary retreatment system for gutta-percha (GP) removal from root canals. Methodology  Root canals 60 extracted human maxillary anterior teeth were prepared and filled with laterally condensed GP AH Plus sealer. Teeth divided into three groups: group A – completed further canal repreparation accomplished instruments; B was using Gates Glidden drills Hedstrom files chloroform as a solvent, followed C same preparation stainless steel K-flex (Kerr). The operating time recorded. rendered transparent evaluation area remaining GP/sealer in bucco-lingual mesial–distal directions. Statistical analysis performed by repeated measures variance anova. Results  technique (group A) resulted smaller percentage covered residual than groups C, significant difference between (P < 0.05). Mean 6.73 min, which significantly shorter (P < 0.05) (10.86 min) (13.52 min). Conclusions  In this laboratory study all test techniques left remnants within canal. proved to be an efficient method removing sealer teeth.
