摘要: Kynurenines are a wide range of catabolites which derive from tryptophan through the “Kynurenine Pathway” (KP). In addition to its peripheral role, increasing evidence shows role KP in central nervous system (CNS), mediating both physiological and pathological functions. Indeed, an imbalance this route has been associated with several neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s Huntington’s diseases. Altered catabolism also described during acute chronic phases stroke; however contribution pathophysiology ischemic damage post-stroke phase including depression vascular dementia, exact mechanisms implicated regulation after stroke not well established yet. A better understanding activity could provide new pharmacological tools stroke. review, we will make overview CNS modulation by KP. We detail damage, how unbalance might trigger alteration cognitive function potential targets for development drugs.
