摘要: Charlotte, in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, was ranked the top ten cities with worst air quality for ozone United States by American Lung Association from 2009 to 2011. Nearby counties that may experience similar do not have state or county monitors. This study utilized NOx and Ogawa passive samplers community scientists monitor five surrounding Charlotte increase public engagement issues. Community deployed weekly at a residential site within each county. Samples were analyzed using spectrophotometry ion chromatography. Elevated concentrations observed four of relative those existing Ozone showed little variation, except Iredell Cabarrus which had higher than Rowan. involvement this work led an local dissemination results, thus increasing awareness.
