摘要: Abstract The potential for co-prescription of the anti-human immunodeficiency virus (anti-HIV) drug efavirenz (EFV) and oral anticoagulant warfarin (WAR) is currently high as EFV a choice HIV type 1 infection because cardiovascular disease increasing among HIV-infected individuals. However, clinical reports EFV–WAR interaction, leading to WAR overdosing, call elucidation mechanisms involved in this drug–drug interaction. Here we present first report demonstrating competition two drugs same binding site human serum albumin. Using ligand-based nuclear magnetic resonance experiments, study proves that has an effect on concentration free WAR. This previously unidentified interaction represents risk factor should be taken into account when considering treatment options.
