摘要: A theoretical distribution function for pressure-ridge, sail heights and keel depths is derived from fundamental assumptions about the randomness of ridges. It shown that ridge spacings (distance between ridges) can also be predicted assumption spatially random occurrence. The suggested functions are, in form, negative exponentials height (or depth) squared spacing, respectively. Extremely good fits were achieved to extensive data collected sonar profiles lower surface pack ice laser profiles, as well visual roughness upper surface. Using these models, it possible completely characterize ridging, a one-dimensional sense, by two parameters: 〈N〉, mean number ridges per unit length, 〈h〉, depth). In addition, there linear correlation 〈N〉 〈h〉. This suggests maps showing or 〈h〉 over an ocean covered with used statistically both spacing
