摘要: Place prioritization for biodiversity representation is essential conservation planning, particularly in megadiverse countries where high deforestation threatens biodiversity. Given the collecting biases and uneven sampling of biological inventories, there a need to develop robust models species' distributions. By modeling ecological niches using point occurrence data digitized environmental feature maps, we can predict potential extant distributions species untransformed landscapes, as well those transformed by vegetation change (including deforestation). Such distributional predictions provide framework use surrogates place procedures such based on rarity complementarity. Beyond conservation, these also be used restoration under current conditions future scenarios habitat (e.g., deforestation) scenarios. To illustrate points, (1) Mexican endemic mammal Dipodomys phillipsii, show how areas may selected; (2) propose combining nonvolant with procedures, connect decreed natural protected region holding exceptional biodiversity: Transvolcanic Belt central Mexico.
