Seroprevalence of Toxoplasma gondii infection in blood donors in mainland China: a systematic review and meta-analysis

摘要: Toxoplasma gondii transmitted from blood donors to receiving patients has become a concern as numerous articles about the epidemiology of T. infection in different provinces have been published China. This study aimed evaluate seroprevalence Chinese using meta-analysis. A total 40 eligible studies, 1986 2017 and covering 18 municipalities were included. Among 49,784 donors, overall IgG was 6.26% (95% CI: 4.62%–8.13%). The highest prevalence Northeast China lowest Central rate increased slowly over years, but not significantly. statistically significant correlation found between detection method educational level (p > 0.05). antibodies lower than other countries, risk transfusion-transmitted toxoplasmosis still exits. More concise methods are needed possibility donors.
