摘要: Two intestinal flagellates, Hexamita muris and Giardia muris, were found in high concentrations most of the congenitally thymus-less (nude) mice a conventional colony being maintained at Radiobiological Institute TNO. Antiflagellate therapy markedly reduced mortality, with >50% living to 110 days. In receiving thymus transplants but no antiflagellate treatment mortality rate was less than either control or treated mice. addition, histopathological examination revealed fewer flagellates mice. It is suggested that wasting syndrome seen nude neonatally thymectomized may be aggravated by infestation Giardia.
