摘要: Abstract Commercial glass fibres were calcinated for the removal of organic matter, activated surface silanol regeneration and silanizated with γ -aminopropyltri-ethoxysilane. Two different activation methods used: reflux neutral water 10% HCl aqueous solution. Acid treatments hydrolize Si–O bonds, greatly changing composition regenerating groups, some them being intraglobular nature. Water treatment does not change appreciably composition, but its free energy value is lowest. The degree silanization greatest acid samples lowest one. polar contribution to total energy, once are silanizated, highest boiling whilst dispersion component about same all them. SEM observations indicate that coating, debonding filaments may induce a peeling-out fractural mechanism.
