摘要: The world is experiencing a high climatic variability and has its impact on all ecosystems, regions sectors, but the nature extent of vulnerability to climate change differs with adaptive capacity individual, society region. which are scarce resources among very vulnerable systems earth most such have existing extreme conditions like deserts snow covered areas. arid further accentuated by low levels socio-economic development, this case India, leads fast depletion water resources. study analyses over last 35 years (1973–2008) in Western drylands Rajasthan results show that temperature shown great an average rise about 0.5°C for month June. maximum visible during 1995–2000. scarcity resource accompanied creates stress region responsible droughts. During annual rainfall decrease 50 mm. With overall changing precipitation trends humidity provinces as defined Thornthwaite shifted eastward. direct medium parts, evapo-transpiration demands water, frequency occurrence droughts resulting from departure mean values, per capita arable land increases demand irrigation water. free power agriculture continued many years, pump horse based pricing electricity encourage over-pumping inefficient often wasteful use groundwater. advent Indira Gandhi Canal fragile desert ecosystems helps cope rainfall. suggests security can be attained through expansion canal network.
