摘要: Background The current prevalence rate of substance abuse and dependence, represents an increasing trend dependence among women, the results epidemiology studies indicate that use patterns are different between men women. This study aimed to determine gender differences in disorders patients undergoing methadone maintenance treatment. Methods cross-sectional was conducted throughout a specified time bracket ranging from September 2012 through March 2013 Methadone Maintenance Treatment (MMT) clinics Mashhad, Iran. In this study, 140 120 women were selected referring MMT Mashhad purposeful sampling method. sample units assessed using demographic information questionnaire Structured Clinical Interview for Diagnostic Statistical Manual Mental Disorders (SCID). data then analyzed by Chi Square test, Mann-Whitney U Independent-samples t-test. SPSS software 16 used conduct statistical analyses with P values less than 0.05 regarded as significant. Results showed significantly each other terms marital status (p=0.001), education income history injection (p=0.002), imprisonment abstention (p=0.023). It also revealed methamphetamine (p=0.017) simultaneous multiple substances (p=0.001) past 12 months diagnosed, larger extent, male participants those female participants. addition, diagnoses nicotine cannabis heroin alcohol during lifetime more frequently existing males females.
