摘要: The objective of the present study is to investigate therapeutic efficacy baicalein (BE) on inflammatory cytokines, which in line with tumor invasion factors and antioxidant defensive system during benzo(a)pyrene [B(a)P] (50mg/kg body weight) induced pulmonary carcinogenesis Swiss albino mice. After experimental period, increased levels total differential cell count bronchoalveolar lavage fluid were observed. Accompanied by marked increase immature mast toluidine blue staining mature safranin-alcian B(a)P-induced lung cancer bearing animals. Protein expression studied immunohistochemistry immunoblot analysis cytokines such as necrosis factor-α, interleukin-1β inducible nitric oxide synthase also found be significantly B(a)P-exposed mice exhibits activated nuclear transcription factor kappa-B confirmed immunofluorescence analysis. Administration BE (12 mg/kg counteracted all above deleterious changes. Moreover, assessment protein mRNA RT-PCR revealed that treatment effectively negates upregulated matrix metalloproteinase-2, metalloproteinase-9 cyclo-oxygenase-2. Further lipid peroxidation markers thiobarbituric acid reactive substances, hydro-peroxides antioxidants glutathione-S-transferase reduced glutathione tissue was carried out substantiate effect BE. chemotherapeutic observed attributed potent anti-inflammatory potential against carcinogenesis.
