摘要: Discrepancies among reports from different geographical regions worldwide on the association between presence of cagA and peptic ulcer disease prompted this study predictive value gene in Helicobacter pylori-associated gastroduodenal diseases Singapore population. H. pylori strains were obtained 169 patients with a ulcer, 83 non-ulcer dyspepsia, nine gastric cancer. The was evaluated by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). expected 400 bp PCR product coding for present 232/261 (89%) isolates. Of these, 151/169 73/83 (88%) dyspepsia 8/9 cancer positive gene. There no statistically significant difference prevalence cagA-positive distinct clinical outcomes (p > 0.05). population is high regardless status. results suggest that not universal virulence marker pylori.
