摘要: Abstract The phenomenon of recruitment order reversal among pairs motor units during “single unit training” was studied in 11 normal subjects abductor pollicis brevis, first dorsal interosseus, and extensor digitorum muscles the hand. Feedback provided by visual auditory cues allowed all to control single-unit behavior directly, such as production single spikes, doublets, steady firing at various frequencies. However, verified pairs, recorded from same fine-wire bipolar intramuscular electrode obtained only contractions markedly different orientation a multifunctional muscle. These results suggest that limited is possible anatomically defined have multiple physiologic functions. Single frequency modulation tested an eight-target tracking task. calculated information outflow rate achieved with performance comparable full-wave rectified surface electromyogram.
