摘要: The centered expansion wave of a shock tube is utilized to expand and supersaturate condensable vapor in small concentration an inert carrier gas. supersaturated state, located at the rear wave, preserved for controlled period then terminated by recompressing wave. During supersaturation, condensation nuclei are formed homogeneously. nucleation rate measured as function supersaturation Mie-light scattering technique. method tested using water results compared with classical theory.
