摘要: Abstract Purpose The aim of this study was to evaluate referring physicians' perceptions multimedia-enhanced radiology reporting (MERR) as an alternative traditional text-only reporting. MERR supplements reports by embedding user-friendly interactive hyperlinks key images and graphically plotting target lesion size longitudinally over time. Methods Of 402 physicians responding a web-based survey, 200 (50 each medical oncologists, radiation neurosurgeons, pulmonologists) practicing in the United States fulfilled criteria complete online survey with questions focusing on satisfaction current perceived value image- data-enriched Results mean respondent age 46 years, 15 years posttraining clinical practice (85% men; 47% from academic centers). Although 80% were satisfied format their reports, believed that would represent improvement. most commonly reported advantages "improved understanding findings correlating text reports" (86%) "easier access while monitoring progression disease/condition" (79%). 28% concerns about implementation, common it "too time intensive" (53%) "the clinic workflow does not allow itself view such fashion" (42%). Physicians indicated strong increased likelihood preferentially patients (80%) recommending peers (79%) facilities offer MERR. Conclusion Most specialist believe data-embedded represents improvement Compared report formatting, refer offering more meaningful enriched platforms.
